Embalming Course Overview

 

Our embalming course is available both part-time and full-time, taking approximately 1.5 to 2 years to complete. It is delivered via distance-based learning and is recognised by the Professional Embalmers’ Association of Ireland (PEAI).

Course Structure

The course consists of both theoretical learning and practical guidance.

  • Origins and Advancements, Standards and Requirements
  • Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology
  • Skeletal and Muscular Systems
  • Circulatory and Lymphatic Systems
  • Respiratory System
  • Digestive System
  • Integumentary System
  • Mortuary Microbiology

 

Each module builds on core concepts, enhancing students’ understanding of human biology and applications in mortuary science.

Recommended Experience

Before joining the course, we highly recommend that students contact a local funeral home to observe at least two embalmings. If this is not possible, we can discuss alternative arrangements during the introduction day.
